Just ordered another pair of prescription glasses through these guys, and thought I'd share the link because it's such a great deal. Normally prescription glasses can cost anywhere from $100 - $600, but at this site I've been using for a few years, they are sub $25. So for those who wear glasses, and are in need of a second pair, new pair, new style, try these guys: http://www.zennioptical.com. The pair I just ordered were $25.95 shipped. Just sharing a good deal.
wow, i actually just got a new prescription and need new glasses. When you get them can you post on how the quality is.
I've already owned about 3 pair from them. Bought my first from them in 2006, lost them, bought again in 2007, wanted a second pair for the car, bought again in 2008, now want a third pair to keep at work. The quality is good for what you're paying. You don't feel as horrible when you lose or sit on them. Of course nothing is name brand. You can also add things to your order like, stronger lenses, bifocal, progressive, etc, and the fees tack on. But they are still cheap. Not sure if this is worth anything, but a guy gives a review here. They have some subpar reviews of their customer service, but I can't complain. I havn't had any issues, and they are $25 (some are cheaper) prescription glasses, I can't complain that much.
The lenses are actually very, very good from zenni. The frames are hit or miss mostly because it's hard to evaluate a frame that's not in your hands (or on yor face more accurately). For 60 shipped I got a pair of titanium frame normal glasses and a set of prescription sunglasses. For the price they're amazing.
You will have to wait for a while. Essentially your order is made right away, but in China, then they ship in large batches, and you get to wait for them to go through customs, etc. Expect them to take 2 weeks or maybe a little more. And the other thing to note is that the cheap prices are for lenses with no coatings at all. So no anti-reflective coating or any such (I think you can add them and they're still very cheap). I know people who work at an eye clinic and we've double checked the lenses against the prescription and they've been spot-on on the four or five pairs we've checked. Much better than say Wal-mart, Sam's Club or Target Optical, etc. (I've actually not had a set of lenses in years that I didn't have to have remade at least once, sometimes twice). You're going to get better from a proper optical shop (like where Flatline works), but you're going to pay for it too.
