Has anyone noticed the idiot pool gets deeper near a checker auto? I went there today to pick up some plastic polish and had to park around some idiot that couldn't get his 626 into the space correctly and therefore was partially into the space that I was about to occupy. As I exited the Checker (this is quite like leaving the twilight zone) I notice a gentleman filling his washer fluid. Something about what he is doing jsut doesn't make sense. Then I realize that the "Washer" fluid cap that he is holding to pour in the fluid has 2 hoses, an inlet and a overflow. I almost told the guy, but it gave me a great big smile to think about the first time he tries to wash his window. Some people shouldn't own cars!

not the first time i've seen this
especially working at the gas station

some kid bought washer fluid and pour it into his overflow tank in his jeep
i was outside messing with my civic (no customers, dead) and asked him what he was doing
He said, I'm filling up my washer fluid tank, but the old fluid is green and this stuff is blue, is that normal?
LOL i told him he poured it into the coolant reservoir, he freaked the f-out, was going a little coo-coo, but i told him to chill, i took out my set of tools to unbolt the reservoir and poured it out, filled it with some fresh water for him
he gave me 5 bucks LOL

Alot of customers always asked me, when purchasing washer fluid
Do I pour this in where it says 'washer fluid'?
    ...

I own a wrangler and I have come a little close to doing that, on the wrangler the tanks are right next to each other (brilliant idea), I'm pretty sure the 626 has it's tanks better separated. but who knows, it would probably be better to watch him pour anitfreeze into his washer fluid!

actually I don't have a high level of appreciation for checer guys in general, but I have to give auto parts guys alot of respect, it's not an easy job, just think about the jerks they have to deal with. Being dumb is such a relative thing, i'm sure that the average checker guy is much smarter than a fork.

I sold a lady a set of wiper blades cuz they were streaking once at Advance. I put them on for her, and recommended she try them out. She sprays the windshield and it smells SWEET. Yeah, it was green too. NO WONDER ITS STREAKING. She tells me is BOTH washer and coolant. "My husband bought something that does both" she tells me.... wow.

Oh yeah, I called Checker once off 42, and they can order PISTON RETURN SPRINGS for a toyota pickup. hahaaa

My 6 cylinder makes 1250 lb/ft of torque.
I hate to say it, but it's not limited to Checker Auto. We even get our share of Darwin award winners at the dealership. I saw someone bring in an Impreza they'd owned since new for their first oil change. The car had 23k miles on it. Also, we're having a sale on piston return springs, gotta make room for the new STI "pink" piston return springs that we have coming in. Oh, and don't forget the Subaru "All in one" fluid, good for washers, coolant and your tranny/diffs!

like said previously...i believe its all relative. these guys are, for the most part, very good help to your AVERAGE customer. we are not average, our questions normally arent average either. when you go into these places you just have to remember that you need to TELL them what you need, and if they ask why just tell them and they can learn something new. everyone i ever met at checker has been super nice, didnt help me learn anything, but they were nice.

there are close to no people you can actually learn from, its like mcdonalds except they have parts instead of mcnuggets and fries.

if you go to a performance place example rs motors, they will look at you like your speaking another language unless they ask ron. i've seen this at the old perpulsion, rs motors, full blown, etc etc
