i was thinking about seeing the midnight showing of cloverfield at the imax in rogers. anyone wanna go? EDIT - for some reason they aren't showing it in imax and aren't having a midnight showing. Very surprising since they are usually on the ball. I'm going to see it at showplace 16 in coon rapids, they do have a midnight showing
already have tickets to see it at the south dale theater at 12:01 am. I have heard very solid rumors about what the monster is..........I hope this movie isn't a let down!!
I'm posting this from my seat in the theater on blackberry. I hope the movie lives up to its hype. I read a few reviews today and all were pretty positive and claimed it is NOT a Godzilla remake. I need something to overcome the audience here, its filled with 17 year old a$$hats that are running around throwing stuff. I really should call the cops on them for breaking curfew.... God I wish this movie wasn't rated PG13.
I thought it was godzilla at first but I saw a preview on MTV and when they were in the tunnel running, I figured godzilla probably wouldnt fit. Im going Friday night. Let us know if it was good WRXSPEED. Thanks
Just saw it, I'm not gonna spoil it, but its worth the money. One caution to those who get motion sickness, take motion sickness pills because the way its filmed, you will get dizzy! My buddies wife was not doing so well, and felt very sick to her stomach from the unsteady camera filming. And the identity of the "thing" was kept under wraps very well, nothing mentioned has been correct in its description. enjoy!!!
ahh, just got home from the movie. Overall I'd say it was pretty good and the entertainment value was worth the ticket price. Its shot via a 1st person view, ala blaire witch project, but is far better. The acting is pretty good and there are a few good one-liners keeping it fresh throughout. Just like J.J. Abrams show Lost, it definitely leaves you hanging from scene to scene and makes you want to know more of whats going on. I'd like to say they could easily make a sequel, but doubt they will since sequels generally suck and JJ Abrams probably won't want to tarnish or cheapen the first one. That's it, i won't spoil it anymore. P.S. This movie would have been awesome in an Imax. The size of the screen would have really put you behind the 1st person handheld camera and would have made it that much better. But, I'm sure it would have multiplied the effect of motion sickness for those who get like that.
I wish I wouldn't have spoiled it for myself. There were some digg articles that had early screeners draw it and talk about it, and like the cat, my curiousness got me and I read the articles and saw the pics. I somewhat ruined that mysteriousness before I saw it, but was still entertained.
Nice sounds like a good movie! i thought it was Godzilla at first but i guess not. will see this weekend for sure.
I saw it at southdale it was pretty sweet i went in unsure if it was gonna be lame or not but it was very well done
