I keep getting this clunk noise coming from the back of my 99 RS. At first I thought it was my subwoofer box wondering around, but I bolted that down last weekend. I hear it when I back out of my drive way. I have one of those driveways with the steep curb. I also hear it on hard cornering. The car has 115k on it. Bushings maybe? Any ideas?

Have you cleaned out your trunk monkey's empty beer cans recently ? I know mine goes through a crate about once every fortnight.

Maybe its all the Budunka Dunka in your Trunka that makes it go CLUNK CLUNK when you bounce?

Check your differential too, while you're down there.

On a serious note; wheel bearing ? Especially if they haven't been replaced yet.

My struts feel really solid when pushing on the fender. I did flip over my rear lateral link last weekend. Someone had installed it upside down so it was torquing the sway bar a little. I know I have wheel bearing issues, but I can't imagine a still drivable clunk coming from a wheel bearing.

You'd be surprised. Recent experience tells *me* otherwise. Might be worth jacking up the rear and checking for wobbly wheels.
