I have two "clutch pedal feel" Q's.

    1. Whats the difference between a "Cable Clutch" and a "Hydralic Clutch"?

    2. I test drove an 06 Acura TL 6spd(37k miles), and the clutch pedal feels way different than my 02WRx. On my Wrx, the clutch pedal feels about the same amount of stiffness/resistance all the way down. On the Acura TL, when i start pressing on the clutch pedal to about half way, the pedal feels soft/light but after about half way it gets stiffer and VERY sensative. I killed the engine in 1st gear going out the lot b/c the clutch pedal is too sensative. I've notice this type of clutch with Honda's/Acura's. I know I'm not use to it yet but its a BIG difference so here's my Q, Whats the difference between My Subie's clutch and the Acura's clutch thats making this different feel on the clutch pedal?

Push type and pull type are a big difference in feel to me, usually.

I know for sure that my 07 WRX clutch feels very different from a bugeye or blobeye WRX.

The Cable clutches use to be very popular with Acura for awhile, not sure if this is still true. But you could actually adjust them with the twist of your fingers, and it would change the stifness and engagement of your clutch. The hydraulic is/was using brake fluid. Thats the extent of my knowledge.

Personally I think the clutch and brakes feel like garbage in the 2.5rs.

Personally, I miss the feel of my old cable clutch before the 6mt.

My hydro clutch isn't too bad though. I may take out he helper springs on my pedal box to see what happens. My clutch master cylinder is also undamped.

If the TL you drove is anything like the one my parents have (6 speed also) the clutch is very odd and does not take on the normal pedal feel of most hondas. Its the biggest pain in the ass and has almost no consistency. It feels like there is two engagement points.
