Dumb Q's, but I have very little experience with clutch, though I drove mt all my life. If the rev goes up before the car moves even when you're in full motion is it clutch? I have a 02 WRX sedan. when in gear, and duh..foot completly off clutch pedal, it'll go vrrrroom before you feel the tires grab.
I been trying to see if anyone could direct me in buying and aftermarket clutch. do I need to change the whole thing and get a complete clutch system like Cusco(can't find dealers) or change certian parts? what's the best med $range for a everyday driving and gives a street performance?

sounds like your clutch is slipping and needs to be replaced.

Cusco is $$$$$$$$$$$ but they are nice. I would recommend going with an exedy or ACT good clutchs for a good price. most sites online will have clutch kits with everything you need. clutch disc, pressure plate, throw out / release bearing, pilot bearing and alignment tool.

You will either need to resurface you old fly wheel or get a new one

Not the one I have for sale ;)

OP, sounds like your clutch is on it's way out. Give it WOT in 3rd up a hill from lower rpm. See if it does the same thing.

love glocks, and turbo. And Subarus are nothing less than glock power turbos!!!
glocks are AWD too!!! Frozen-shoots, submerge in wtr-shoots, toss in sandbox-shoots, no jams! like a subaru, FBI issued weapon of choice ( not FBI issued, but Subarus should be...seriously!)

thanks, I saw the exedy & ACT, but wanted a 2nd opinion from ya Suby crews. I did see some complete package that also threw in a new lighter flywheel/12lbs. but ebay stuffs like brand names like F1 or XTR for around $400. worth it or not?

I would love a stage 2, cause somehow even though I tell myself everyday that I'm not going to speed, I end up speeding! I abuse my Subaru rights too much! but if it's out of my budget then I'll have to settle for stage 1. I tend to push my baby for those who has little to no knowledge on Subarus, and are always trying to mess with me. plus my Wrx is debadged with just the WRX and turbo chromed out.

what year? and still on the stock 5 speed?

Personally i would stick with a stock replacement or a stage one clutch, that way your clutch is the weaker point, between that and your trans... thats just my opinion though...

I dont know if i would bother with ebay crap... you get what you pay for and with a clutch, not sure if i would go with an ebay brand.

I have an ACT stage 1 and i like it a lot... its the same clutch disk as stock but had a heavier duty preasure plate so you got the feel of a stiffer pedal.

    just my 2 cents

    check
    maperformance.com
    or
    importimageracing.com

    both have very competitive pricing

Thanks, I hear very good ratings here so far on ACT & Exedy. I'll look into them both. Man Whitebear Suby quoted me for $1600! wow, I would grab a Cusco and hire someone for $250 to instal!
