well for the 2nd time in about a year im going to be replacing my clutch...when i got my stage1 exedy i was told it could hold 380wht well did some looking and found out the disk that is in the stage1 kit i got is only rated for 280wht im putting down 278 hence why now in less then 25k miles im starting to slip in 5th gear and a tiny bit in 4th..so plan of attack is to get a act hd street disc and with any luck *crosses fingures* being it just started to slip so lightly that if i baby it till i can get that new disc the pressure plate will be ok and i can just drop the act disc in there.. anyone else have any recommendation on what to do..dont have alot of money to play with the new disc will be 150 so im hoping i can get away with just replacing the disc and not having to get another full clutch kit.. also will either be needing a new flywheel or at least getting mine resurfaced anyone have opinions on what i should do there. it wont be a lightened one as i already have a lightened crank pulley..
i found out mine had the 15802 disc in it and it is not organic hence the low holding torque. they make the same kit with a 15802hd and that one has the organic disc..im just a little upset that i was told that that kit would hold 380 and well as we can see it clearly does not.....
I am currently driving a 6 Puck unsprung ACT HD clutch... wish I would have went with the sprung hub. I dont think an Exedy pressure plate will work to well with an ACT Clutch disk. Might want to look into that.
im trying to stay away from anything but a full face disc being its a dd and dont think id like a 6puck for dd. from what i heard there are no issues with using a act disk and exedy pp feel free to chime in if u have stories of anything different.
Daikin (Exedy) makes the disks for ACT, fyi.... I still have my Hyper Single available for cheap, all you clutch burners.
