Cobb stg 2.5?

    Just looking for some thoughts....

    I've been running cobb stg2 and looking at 2.5 with the vf34, injectors, and pump. Is there anything other mods that would give me a bit more power before considering this upgrade?

    right now i have the basics...invidia up/down, apexi n1 axleback, cobb stg2, k&n drop-in, samco IC hoses, silencer delete

    Custom tune for sure. Im sure Jason will chime in with his thoughts since he has the same setup.

    I was thinking about a tune, but didn't know if I should wait until after the upgrade? I would hate to spend the money and tune the car if two months later I'm having to switch maps and then re-tune....

    sorry if my question seems dumb, but what will the bigger IC do for me? just keep it a bit cooler?

    A bigger ic with the stock turbo will get you pretty much nothing. I have been watching my air temps, and the stock ic with the stock turbo is a VERY good match. I would go with either a custom tune, or do the fullt 2.5 upgrade.

    ^ he said he was going with a vf34, thats why i reccomended the bigger intercooler

    Cobb will be releasing some maps for the 16g for the 04-05 (they have maps for the 02-03 ones now) WRXs pretty soon. I'd hold off for them to come, and then do the upgrade.

    Then go for the custom tune if you feel the need to do so.

    You mean hold off and install the 16g, right? Because you already talked me out of one turbo... ;)

    When going with a 16g...if I'm understanding this right...is a direct bolt-on? No fitment issues?

    So with the right shooping around this could be done for about 1K? (with injectors and pump)

    Yeah, I'm not positive, but it should be a direct bolton. I'd talk to steve-o as I believe he has a 16g on his car.
