Just wondering for those of you with Cold Air intake, do you guys have any problem in hard rainy days. Especially on highways. Is a water by-pass-valve recommanded? Any NOT recommanded driving weather?
NO BYPASS. Turbos will suck those right open, unless they are designed for a turbo car. Even so, put a filter around it. If you still have all your splash shields you should be fine driving in heavy rain, just don't go crashing thru puddles.
A tune will net you gains, but is not necessarily required for CIA's that're the same as the stock MAF.
True, but our 06+s compensate for the lack of turbulence much better than the 16-bit ECUs. ..Or so I've heard. Who knows for sure. Anyway.
I'm giving him crap, ok? Kong will always get picked on by me, just because... my K&N cai doesn't go all the way down to where it would suck up water. went through rainy days, no problem
I have a short ram, and was still having issues with water going through the filter and contacting the MAF sensor, throwing my AFR readings way off. Car would hesitate, misfire, and all that. Solution: Got a K&N Pre-Filter and cleaned/oiled the filter. No more issues.
