Hi all, I'm new to the US (from the UK) and have recently bought Munky's old black impreza L. Had my first Subaru in 98, a 94 legacy turbo with hybrid turbo, superchip and an exhaust big enough to get a dog inside... fantastic car got it upto 213K miles before trading up to a standard Impreza turbo (2litre, 200bhp). Thousands of pounds later, brembo brakes, VF28 turbo, gruppe S headers, stainless exhaust, unichip plus loads of other stuff it was upto over 300bhp. With the high running costs and high fuel price in the I waved it goodbye 3yrs later sold it to Munky King when he lived in the UK!). The Impreza I have now is an 95 L with an STi conversion, has an JDM EJ20 and transmision with FMIC and boost controller. Also fitted with 4-pot brakes and decatted. Unusually it also has very little rust. It's very rough at the moment, needing a lot of tidying up - has no heating so stuck in the garage, also needs brakes sorting (no handbrake), gear linkage fixed, exhaust gas leak fixed, power steering fixed etc - so definitely a project car, but it has it where it counts (also has aftermarket coilovers set up for autoX). Also has a power FC to be fitted and tuned once the exhaust leaks are fixed. Its been a while since I worked on scoobies so I apologise in advance if I need to ask a few questions if I get stuck.
