Got a question. I noticed an interesting difference between my old v6 cougar and my new wrx. When i parked my cougar on an incline at my GF's house i just left it on a first gear and it stayed there without rolling back. Now when i park my wrx there and if i just leave it in first it rolles back, so i have to put it on ebrake too. So my question is: is that because cougar had higher compression? I know that turbo cars have lower comression but would that be noticable like that.

And another of topic question. After driving my car and parking it i can hear clicking/ ticking noise. I figured thats the noise of the car cooling down. Is that normal?

    Thanks, Taras

Yes the rolling is due to the lower compression and 2 less cylinders. Pretty typical with smaller engined cars and lower compression. As a benefit- they are easier to push start. :)

The clicking/ ticking noise is more than likely your exhaust cooling down. Every car I've ever had has done that.
