There was quite a haul made by local Subaru RallyCross drivers at Saturday's Land O'Lakes Region SCCA Banquet. Amy Springer was awarded the Sportsmanship award for her efforts in our local program and her performance at the national RallyCross championship event. Dan Drury was awarded the Most Improved Driver of the Year award for his accomplishments in the 2008 LoL RallyCross Series. Carl Siegler received the RallyCross Rookie of the Year for showing great promise as an up and coming driver in the 2008 RallyCross season. Kevin Beck was honored with the RallyCross Driver of the Year in recognition of his efforts in and out of the car. I addition to these above "selected" awards, the following championship awards were also won by members of the local Subaru community. Mark Utecht M4 1st Amy Springer M4 3rd Carl Siegler M4 4th Dan Drury M4 4th Kevin Beck M4 6th Josh Storlie M4 7th Denny McGinn PA 1st Joel Kucera PA 2nd Kyle Rodriguez PA 3rd Kerry Freund SA 1st Katherine Freund SA 2nd Lastly, I am proud to announce that Mayhem Racing (Amanda Ingle, Kevin Beck, Amy Springer, Carrie Carlson, Brent Carlson, Mary Utecht and Mark Utecht) were honored with the inaugural Team West/Team Accomplishment Award. This award is named for Harvey and Sharon West. They have contributed an immense amount to the local SCCA region throughout the last 40+ years. Last year, Harvey lost his battle with cancer but was very happy to hear shortly before his passing that an award was being started in his and his wife's name. The award was given this year for Mayhem Racing's efforts at the 2008 SCCA RallyCross National Championship event in Nashville, TN. The trip yielded a 7th in class for both Kevin and Amy and a first in class for both Brent and I. We are all proud and humbled to be selected to receive this award. Congratulations to all the championship and selected award winners. They all showed true spirit for the sport and represented this club/forum very well.

congrats to everyone! Every event was an awesome time and I'm looking forward to this coming season (especially battling with dan!!)! I was very surprised and honored to get the rookie of the year award, hopefully i didn't set the bar to high for myself :laugh:
Congrats everyone! It was good to get together with everyone when we aren't running around like crazy at a rally cross. Just like Carl I was very honored to receive the most improved driver award. Thanks everyone at Snowstates and LOL. A special thanks to Mark Utech for helping me along and teaching me the ways of the goey foot.
Fantastic job all around. Congratulations! Although, Mark, you forgot a few. Brent Carlson & Mark Holden tied for 1st place in M2. Also Mark Holden won the Worker of the Year award for his many years of great service to the region. Again, congratulations to all the winners! Much deserved indeed. -Erik D
Erik is right, I left those two out. However, I left them out on this forum as their accomplishments were not in Subarus (other than Brent's finish at nationals, which I did mention).
