I noticed that under my dash that there were 4 connectors disconnected. They are all taped together. 2 were green, 1 was white, and 1 was black. I thought the two green ones were suppose to connect to each other, but what are the others for.

The 2 green ones are meant to be disconnected. Hooking them up puts your car into a diagnostic mode. The white one (likely) is for flashing information to your ECU (need a jumper connector to close a loop between some of the pins). The Black one though, ?

Thanks, thought the green pull it apart for diagnostic which would explain my concern.

You can basically look up the CEL codes in diagnostic mode.. don't know how the wrx ones work, but the 'ol 93 tleg just had to connect white to black for ECU troubleshooting, or white to green for TCU troubleshooting (i think :ugh:). They make the CEL blink X times, than look up that amount on a table somewhere to see wtf is going on. lol

I don't believe the car has to be in diagnostic mode to check for CEL, should be able to check for it unconnected

Your right, you do not need it to be in diagnostic mode for checking CEL's

Leave those plugs alone, unless you are trying to read/write to the ECU
