I have also been looking for a "SSAC" style plastic coolant bottle also...all the metal ones cost $50+ I'll let you know if I find anything. worst case scenario....just take a glass bottle with cap and drill a hole in the cap for the hose. I have a glass drill bit that can be used to drill a vent hole towards the top of the bottle. No water will get in that tiny little vent hole.
^^^^ I probably wouldnt use glass though...... they may frown on that at a race track due to if it falls off and smashes on the strip...
Nalgene bottles are made of Lexan which is Polycarbonate. This page has the melting point (310 deg) and other info. edit: This page has the Melting point for Lexan as 440 deg C. You should be fine.
truth, that would work slick. or... you could just put a Mt. Dew bottle in there like we did with the Maro Nick
I just bought a 16 ounce Nalgene for $8 I plan on making a nice little bracket out of aluminum for it and installing it tomorrow night. I will post pics of the finished product, it will be very slick.
FINISHED IT UP TONIGHT. - Nalgene = $8 - Aluminum Stock = $4.50 - Double sided adhesive tape = $2.50 - TOTAL = $15 I think it came out very good it fits perfectly in front of the battery. now all I have to do is cut off the mounting tab for the oem coolant bottle and I can install my FMIC
