Unfortunately the coolant reservior by my engine failed. Notice some fizzing by the weld and one touch on the cap, the thing went POOF! Need replacement ASAP. I uploaded a pic for reference.
Pretty sure that i have one of an 03. $20 and it's yours...if i can find it! Stupid parts everywhere.
So this is really stupid of Subaru. Turns out this thing happens occasionally but a recall was never issued. A replacement from the dealer for the part alone is $136. I needed one ASAP so I had to spend $$$ at the dealer. However, the good side is, the replacement ones are plastic (no weld failure) and smaller (more space in the bay). Thanks to whoever tried to help.
Theres a difference of it happening to lets say 40 vs 6000. I dont see this problem much but its not the first time. Ive seen more spun bearings/cracked pistons vs this. I think Subaru should fix those over everything else lol.
Wait, a part from a 2004 failed, (in a harsh climate, yes I said harsh climate) And you want a recall? How many miles is on the car? My head gaskets, power steering rack and pump, ac, alternator, Shocks, knock sensor, iac sensor, light bulbs, crank bearings, Transmission, wheel bearings, tons of bushings, hoses, rear inspection plate, spark plug wires, Cruse control switch, And speed sensor have all failed, where is my recall??? I understand that this part fails alot, but does FHI even manufacture the part? Stuff fails all the time, that's life. Car don't last forever. Yes, I've been drinking.
(I do understand that some of the idems that I listed are normal ware parts, and was only using them as an example, but if you think that your car is never going to need a part replaced, then you should sell it.)
