Thinking of getting my soon to be new subbie done there. Darkest legal tint as well as the 3M Scothgard Paint Protection Film for the front end, hood and fenders.

Does anyone here have a review on them?

I saw some of the work they do at motorwreks and looks to be done really well.

Im kind of new to the area so if you know somone better lmk.

    Welcome to the boards.
I've never heard of them before. If you go there, post some pictures after, I'd like to see the work.

    Again, welcome!

You might want to check out

    http://mnsubaru.com/shops.php

There are a few options there. I believe you would get a discount at those shops as well for being a member here.

    Welcome

FTW 15% off at tintmaster for being a member here. Anyone got some pics of there subbie done by them?

They also said 50% is darkest legal in mn..... Guess thats better then nothing. Texas it was 25% all the way around.

I had my old wrx done by them. 35% (out of state plates). great quality work. Clean cuts are a must on the (pre-2008) wrx/sti with the frameless windows and they did a good job. No close-up pics of the tint but I have some car shots if interested.

Wisconsin's tint laws state 50% for the front windows, and 35% for the rear windows.

So here's my question--is it a better idea to do 50% all around and have it look consistent, do it 35% because it looks better and run the risk of a ticket, or actually get the windows in front tinted to 50% and the rears to 35%?

In the right light, you can tell the difference between a 35/50 split. I'm not a fan, especially on dark cars.

I've had 35% on all my vehicles... It's perfect for sunny and bright and snowy days, but can be a pain at night. I'll end up doing 50% on the current car since I back out of my garage into an alley and it's legal.
It can really be argued either way, but if you live/drive in an area with lots of tint patrol or lots of low night-time visibility (unlit alleys and such)...

Dang you hunted me down :-p

Yeay thats me over there as well. Thoes prices where quoted from cooler in the shade in that post.

Tintmasters said they would remove the glass to apply the tint on the door windows. Hope they know what there doing. Would hate to get a rattle or have someone thats never worked on the 08 take mine apart for the first time. Heck just the though of someone taking apart my new car is kind of scary. But if that is what is needed to be done to have it done right I guess there is no choice.

As far as where Im getting my car from. Im about a day or so from finalizing a deal. After the deal is set ill divulge that info.

I've had 35% on my last 2 cars, never hasseled by the police about it, not even while being pulled over for something else.

^ That's reassuring because I just put 35% on my side windows and I'm going to do the back one soon too. I always look in my rearview mirror when I pass a cop now...

Um, why the hell would anyone remove the windows to tint?!! Do not have them do it...are they going to line it all up properly after? There is no need to remove windows to tint. (used to tint professionally for several years)

I think you should be ok pretty much wherever.... You can always get a bad job anywhere. If there are issues when complete, tell them you want it corrected, before you leave. Just please understand this is not being done in a cleanroom so there are going to be some dust specs. Be sure they have a warranty, go with Lifetime if offered (it is actually better adhesive, from my experience).
