For a split second (call it a senior moment) I thought the Chrysler Crossfire sound like it would be a fun car, so I decided to go on a Crossfire forum and check it out.... well, this guy was excited to have run a 14.9 in the 1/4 mile.... http://www.crossfireforum.org/forum/racing/33612-new-best-time.html ummm, not the car for me I guess.... I don't like cars that look faster than they are.
I was quick to judge.. http://www.crossfireforum.org/forum/racing/23698-fastest-1-4-mile-thread.html looks like low 13's can be had on a stock srt6, now this sounds some what intresting, I wonder how they handle on a road course?
It's a first gen Mercedes SLK 230/320/32 AMG in a different wrapper. If you compare the two cars side by side, the only real difference is the sheet metal. The interiors are almost identical, as well as the drivetrain. The SRT version is the SLK 32 AMG.
I thought this thread was going to be about: And then I was prepared to defend the game's coolness to the death :hsugh:
WELL, I did not know that. I am not all that sophisticated, I don't keep up with the euro stuff so much.
It was part of the Daimler/Chrysler merger. Chrysler thought they might be able to move a bit upscale with a rebadged/skinned SLK. Just like the 300/300C, which basically is using E-Class suspension and a very similar chassis.
so they are an outdated Benz.... thats funny, they are based or the r170 platform after Benz obsoleted it. LOLz, we got Germany's leftovers.
I think they are pretty cool, but every one ive seen is either driven by a complete douchenozzle or a man so old that he farts dust.
i had recently dated a girl who's sister drove a brand new one...bahahahaha that a piece of crap car..just like all their cars minus the early 90s inline 6 jeeps
Not sure how it'd be like every other early 90s Chrysler since the merger wasn't until 98 and these didn't drop until well after that, not to mention the fact that inside it's an SLK Benz for the most part. I guess MB must've had pretty low standards and gullible buyers.
A: His ass Q: Which orifice should he stop talking out of? FYI, they've already merged with Fiat and should be coming out of bankruptcy proceedings soon.
meh to each his own i guess where you think im wrong others may agree with me what i would like is to see some fiats come over here so that i may test drive some...i hear they are good cars
That's why I wouldn't want to buy anything like that new...Wait a couple years and you get a nice discount...That's why I love those CTS-Vs so much. 60k new, you can find them with 25k or less miles for under 25k. I've seen some around 20k, and for that you're getting a 400hp rear drive luxury sedan that handles. Of course, it's not just domestics, even foreign luxury cars take a hit although it's not usually as bad.
I second that. I grew up in the Middle East and Fiats were known as one of the more robust cars. Solidly built. However, this was in the 80's/90's, so not sure how good they are now. Also, Opel's were very popular but unreliable. They had very very cool stuff, technology wise, but a bad reputation for breaking down. I'd be interested in test driving new models from both and if the stars are lined up, maybe we can get Lada's (I think Russian) here too. One of the toughest and simplest cars I have ever driven.
yeah no kidding.. well i guess his is a deal, he takes real real good care of all his stuff.. really meticulous and very anal, hes a huge chrysler fan and is huge into n3ons actually..
