Okay so awhile back a little damage was done to my paintjob. And then yesterday my mom backed into my car.

On my car I have PPG paint that is rather expensive, or so I have been told. I have the lot numbers on my paint and I need some stuff done. In on of the spots its down to the metal of the car so I'm assuming it'll need to be primered but more specifically I don't want a whole section repainted, such as the whole door, I'm looking to get the area where the damage is blended. I can't speak on this matter too much because I don't know that much about it other than what I have been told. I don't have pictures of the damage but what my goal is is to hopefully find a good shop or a least a couple recommendations of where I can get this done.

    A couple pictures are attatched.

Any suggestions are appriciated, and feel free to pm me.

When the car was painted they seem to have forgot to do the hood.

Wow, can you say jackass? did I ask for comments on the car? I got an amazing deal on the car and it came how it came. I've gone through this before and all I'm looking to do is find someone who can offer me quality work not some jackass who thinks he can make smart ass comments over the internet.

Thanks bud, but your crap isn't wanted here.

Dude. Chill out. Completely kidding. From the picture I can't see any damage. But if you have the lot numbers then any halfway decent shop should be able to blend it. At least that's how it was for my Z. Granted I didn't have fancy paint...just straight up solid color, which is a lot easier. The smaller the area the better. Take it around to some collision shops, provide them the lot number and ask for estimates and referals/pictures of cars that they have done.

On a side note, I think I saw you a couple weeks ago by Dunwoody/Hennepin. I ride my bike to and from work thought the car looked familar from an avatar I saw on here.

I apologize for the hood comment. Didn't know you would be so touchy about it...hence the smily face.

I think I heard someone say Hamline Autobody does good work.
Of course, don't go to Maaco or a place like that. They are cheap for a reason.

I'd check the yellow pages for custom paint shops.

I've spotted you a few times over on Summit in St. Paul.
Did you get the rims painted yet?

Check out Lake Marion Collision in Lakeville. They do a lot of custom work on old cars. Everything from imports to Escalades to oldies. They blend paint very well. I had my hood redone there. You can't tell it's been repainted except for there are no rock chips. :)

Hey ~ I have a Legacy friend that referred me over to a guy he has used for PDR. Here was his message to me when I was asking about a dent I recently received on my new Legacy in my parking garage at work. ****Please keep in mind, I have not personally used this guy yet, but I totally trust my friend at LegacyGT.com.**** So I thought I would pass along the information. Do with it what you will. Best of luck!

"Kimmi use Juergen's Dent Kraft at 952-472-5100. Juergen is a crusty old German that learned the paintless dent removal craft in Germany for one of the automakers, fixing imperfections before the cars left the factory. I am not easily pleased, but this guy is flipping amazing. It is an art. I have watched him work and was awed. He was doing painless dent repair in the Twin Cities before most of these new guys in the business were born. He works out of the Collision Center (body shop) in Golden Valley just north of 394 off the frontage road and just east of Menard's."

He's scratched down to bare metal...therefore paintless dent repair is NOT gonig to work. Call up Raymond Auto Body. They do alot of Audis and Mercs and Porsches. They do great work. Top notch. I'm still very very happy with the job they did on my car.

okay, those aren't current pics, those are just ones that i figured would show the paint the nicest. It doesn't have the silver rims on it anymore, got rid of them awhile ago... or atleast they are winter wheels now, i have some black ones on it now.

Anywho, thanks for the suggestions, much apprieciated I'll look into it.

    Thanks!

Any body shop that specializes in high end cars should be able to do it no problem. Raymons and hamline have cars come through there all the time with high dollar paint jobs and do good work. My paint is custom as well and the job they did on it fixing dents/repainting parts is absolutely seamless.

Yeah ~ I saw that he was down to bare metal. My thoughts were, he could try giving the guy a call. See if perhaps he might do other repairs as well. Just sharin' some info man. No need to scream.:hsugh:

I would also try Century Collision (east side on 36 and century). They did my truck when it got vandalized, and they did a awsome job. You can't even tell it was keyed. Also, do you have metallic paint?? If so, they might have to re-spray the whole body panel, metallics and pearls at way to hard just to do some touch-up spots.

Whatever went down there and I had two things that needs to be done... they can't match the paint so its all good?? 500 deductable for one and 1140 for the other would be 1190 yar... haha

    Whatever I guess.
