I used to own an 8600, nice little laptops, well built.

As for the dead battery, they are decently cheap online. Just be sure to differentiate between the cheapy low capacity and high capacity (like stock) ones. ;)

    Good luck on the sale.

The 8500 and 8600 are identical in most respects. Some of parts on this one are from a 8600.

I disagree with that assessment. Clean out the fan assembly.

The only people that believe that are the ones that set these on a pillow on their lap.

That doesn't work well with the fan on the BOTTOM of the laptop.

Bump for a nice computer and a nice guy.

(My Toshiba is still running great, btw! Thanks dude!)

The heat sink vent in the back will get clogged with stuff. Two screws on the bottom and pull the fan assembly out. Use a can of air, air compressor or leaf blower.

Some of us are turbo car drivers right? Go big or go home. Actually I do use a leaf blower/shop vac on larger desktop cases. Just make sure you check your connections afterwards. BTW I am glad you are happy with your laptop. I seem to recall it being a fairly urgent matter, jonesing for a mnsubaru post or something.

Nah man... these things get HOT no matter what... I have one of the same series, if you check up they all actually cause issues because of the heat

all was a rash generalization on that one. If you let them get to hot it will cause issues. I didn't mean to offend just throwing in my $.02 because I am an IT guy. I have been in the field for years and have worked on many of these laptops many with literally burnt out main boards due to heat

My post in your for sale thread was a joke. I should have put a smiley in there. I'm betting I have been in IT as long as you have been alive. ;)

So is this thing sold?? If so it will be closed so we do not have to look at people arguing about items that are sold.
