    There. Or here. Sometimes both.
    Rear diff is easy.

    Remove top plug,
    remove bottom plug and drain,
    Clean filings off bottom plug,
    Replace bottom plug,
Fill until oil (75w90) comes out top hole,
    Replace top plug.

Do the manual Transmission as well. There is a nice, big drain plug right in the 'y' where your exhaust piping joins into a single pipe. Remove and drain. You have to fill through the dipstick hole on your transmission. Fill until it is at the cold level it should be on the dipstick. It's on the passenger side. Get a long-neck funnel. Don't overfill. Also, don't overtighten the plug.

Subaru recommends a 75w90 in here as well. There are a lot of schools of thought on alternate oils and mixtures. I won't get into that. Personally, I have Redline 75w90ns in mine and it works well. I can tell you not to use Mobil1 75w90 in the tranny as it's too slippery. It is fine for the rear diff.

Somewhere around 4 quarts for the tranny, I think? Depends on how much is left in your tranny when you drain it.

The diff takes about 1. Maybe a tick more.

STI, remove the harness clip from the top plug, and use a 30mm (I think? It's about the same size as the axle nut) to remove the top plug, and use a 1/2 inch ratchet, remove the bottom, let it drain, plug it back up, fill top hole with subaru lsd fluid til it begins flowing out of the top hole, plug it, plug clip back, done.

take the washer off and flip it over and use the new (flatter) side. Make sure to remove the top car first, if you take the drain one off first and find the top cap it stuck you'll be screwed, ie no way in the world to fill the diff unless you have a crane:laugh:

The top plug (with the sensor) should be a 27mm head. Axle nuts are 32mm.

It's pretty easy to use a piece of 5/8's hose in the top of the can, and puncture a hole in it for an air gun. Then just pressurize the can, and the air pushes the fluid out through the hose.
