Saw the build yesterday. Crazy. Nice work guys, I can't wait to see some shakedown runs. Maybe you should have just bought a mustang and put a fiberglass Subaru body on it. J/K
got some more bracing done tonight. ran out of gas for the tig so was a good place to stop for today.
i was sick with some stomach virus thing, couldnt keep anything down friday night still saturday night, and today i feel fine. I better be damn healthy for vegas next week
so i was just wondering if this cage is going to pass all the Tech inspections at real drag events? Don't get me wrong, I'm not questioning your abilities at all, you put my welding to shame, I was just always under the impression that for stuff like this to pass it had to be done by a certified somebody...? Just curious how all that works
no it has to get certified by a nhra tec. anyone can do the work you just have to have proper points, welds, bracing ect.. befor they just say its ok. nhra has a rule book that you can buy and make sure every thing is to spec
well......I'm still impressed. I never thought I could love a 2WD subie so much!! excellent work Matt :yumyum:
I see some 'nazi' edited some posts on here... anyways... paint this white and call it Fobia... View attachment 13272
matt wants to run 8's AND look good doing it. edit: I bet that thing is nice and light to move around. lol I remember the cages for the buggies I used to build were about 100 lbs. and that was for one person and a 750cc motor, not a car.
when are you planning to drag it? spring time or summer? you need to let all of us know so we can road trip out to rockfalls or BIR to watch
my plans are for April but who knows? im sure i will hit a snag some ware along the line that will hold me up
oh come on? show car is in my blood! im quiting my project and going smartcar. screw going fast. anyway, the car is sitting because i am at sema. meeting alot of good companys out here and got a good idea of what direction i need to go with parts that are out there. as the car sits, the cage is back in. I was in the procces of alighning and squareing it up in the shell. will post pics when i get back.
now new updates on the chassis stuff but really pumped on this! take a look! will post up the flow number sheets when i get them scanned in.
Interesting how airflow is an exponential with lift. More lift does not really mean much more flow. Looks good. So now you can finally put that thing together
a link to the trans: http://www.fbperformance.com/viewtrans.asp?TransmissionID=78 same thing map has in the rx7. ether this or a th400? the rear gears have not been decided yet. still looking in to it.
