go back to the last pics taken. there she be. on a good not i got alittle extra money this week so first on the list is the rear end so i can get it rolling and get alot more of the chassis stuff done. then next will be getting my heads done and together to complete the motor.
well not the best photos but it shows now that it rolls now on its own weight and now has the parachute done. should be trying to stay busy on the project tell a oil pan comes in that i need to make some headers for testing. so on with the pics..
Wow, looking awesome. Those back tires barely fit - is there enough room in there for them to "grow?"
yeah thats just crappy pics on my part. the wheels have tons of room. still need the breaks in there which will push the wheels out more and the tires have about 6 inches above them to grow.
hey now... thats not nice Glad to see she is sitting on her own weight matt. Hope everything comes together smoothly. ill have to swing by when i head down that way again.
not being mean just saying...and next time i'm back in duluth i'll have to check out your bugeye. from what i hear it's sick
Maybe I missed it through the 74 pages, but what kind of times would you like to run with this thing? 8's maybe?
If anything NON Subaru is going to power it at some point in it's life, my recommendations list goes as follows: 4g63 (2.1 destroker, 10,000 rpm shift point, then throw on whatever Borg warner turbo is 42r+ spec) 2jzgte (crammed in with a big single) I'd love to see an RB swapped Subaru but then parts get so expensive Matt, what are you doing for a fuel cell? I know you're running an aeromotive pump but not sure if you opted for the speed controller or not. I also know you had said you still want to street drive it here and there and I have experienced a pissed off pump already with my car, I went for a 12 gal cell for weight with dual -8an feed lines into a -10an. I didn't opt for the speed controller but I suck down that 12 gallons to a point where my pump is NOT happy rather quickly. I know you don't have much room in your "trunk" either so was curious as to what the plan is. I am going to step up to a 15-20 gallon, if your in need of a cell still I'll have this 12 gallon around. Let me know. Also, what turbo have you decided on, if any yet, for your beast?
i gave up on driving it around the streets. way too many stupid people and don't want to risk the tickets. as far as the fuel stuff goes, i have not made up my mind ware i want the fuel tank to be. want to try put it under the hood but most likely be in back in the trunk. i actually have allot of room in the trunk for a tank. most likely it will be a 8-10 gallon. im also be running a drysump so i will be getting rid of the aromotive pump and going with a waterman mechanical pump that attaches to the back of the drysump pump. as far as the turbo goes, have not decided on that one ether. 74-80mm. some ware in there. oh and this car will forever have a subaru motor in it.
Quite a project and bonus style points for keeping the boxer motor. I read this entire thread the other day and my question is; with the last cat eating turbo what does the torque curve look like, and where does it peak.
See that russian/ukranian on NASIOC with the BW S374 pushing 40 psi/735 whp and it runs 10 sec 150mph 1/4's on street tires/full interior .... Sorry if off topic fobia...
come finish riches build and your header so i can work on it. lol nothing new. just sits tell i finish other peoples stuff to work on it
 Yeah I guess, it is going to be ultimate though I cant wait to see you hit 8's!!!... I am very excited for the headers and stuff too... I am working on some anti lag with my stock ecu (jdm group-n style)to help even more with spool up too...
Great Work! i cant wait to see it! a few questions 1. Are you going to shave the door handles? #showcar 2. When the car becomes drag certified can it still be street drivable? would you want to? ( i saw earlier that you said it wouldn't be worth it because of noobs, tickets, ext...) 3. Is the metal case between the rear wheels a diff cover? or full diff What type of diff do drag cars like this have? (open, closed, lim, DCCD :yumyum: ?) I cant wait for April and to see this thing rip!
1. no shaving the door handles. i could care less about show car stuff. i just want it to be clean. 2. no it will not be streetable. between the gearing, tires, wheels, and suspension i would not want too really. i will stick to the track. wont say that i wont be testing stuff out in front of my house though. 3. the metal case is a rear end. a for 9'' in a fabricated case. drag cars have spools. pretty much is a solid rear end with no slip.
any videos of this thing, is it running yet? I read all 75 pages last night (yes noob settings, pages load faster)
