Hey Frichdan, what happened to The Foundation? It is no more from what I hear. They closed down for some, 'remodeling', hmm, what ever. Might be the real reason, but that might just have been a way of not saying that they were losing money and need to close.

they said they were closing temporarily and that they would be open this spring... but I'm not holding my breath either.

    ok, that's what I figured

I talked to those guys a few months before they closed shop and they said it had been a struggle.

the economics of opening a club downtown just isn't in the favor of playing good music. no dis on frichdan because he probably knows more than anyone else the kind of compromises club owners/managers always force on djs.

They did an excellent job with their djs. I did like the big name djs they brought to MPLS, but I also did like the local ones too! Oh well, I am getting older, and need to 'focus' my energies elsewhere, I will still appreciate that music.

Yeah, a lotta clubs open and close within a few years. But that also is part of how they keep things fresh. They close down and open under a new name... Envy is a perfect example, used to be Ferenhiet, now new name new location.

As for Foundation, I dont think they are openning anytime soon, if they do it'll be different owner and new name Im guessing.

But ya, def. PM me for Aqua tonight by 6pm so I can make sure to get anyone free cover.

Just like The Quest, now Epic. Or Banana Joe's, then The Lodge, now I have no idea.

Actually I think part of The Quest burnt down or something to that nature.

always changing, usually on a downhill slope

yeah, keeping things fresh = owner loosing money hand over fist.

the quest re-opened after the fire. I think they actually closed because they had so many shooting/stabbings that the city started charging them fines + they wanted to keep things fresh

I used to go down to the Foundation all the time, even was a card carrying member. I saw a bunch of local, national and international Djs for the first time ever. One of my favorites that I saw there was Dieselboy, excellent Drum n' Bass, and John Aquaviva, Richie Hawtin, and I think BT was there as well. :( Many many more, but cannot recall atm.

Thank you for this offer! If I go out anywhere it is usually with 3 to a mob of others, hehe, some of which are 'aficionados'.
