So, n00b question, but since I'm doing my DP for the first time, does anyone keep the lower heat shield or just disregard it? I'm chopping up the top/upper heat shield to make it fit the DP. Just curious what people do with the lower one. Thanks guys.

I think everyone just tosses it, have yet to see a lower. You could wrap it.

You're just talking about the bottom part of the one around the turbo, right? I chopped both of mine because I was afraid of a rattle if I just mounted the top one with like 2 bolts.

I used only the top with 2 bolts, and 3 (once I found the 3rd one ) and it does not rattle at all.

Yup, I'm just going to chop to the upper part and have it mounted with 3 bolts. The lower half is out for now and I can easily put it back if I want it :) Maddad V2 DP with Maddad Catback whisper. Just finished the install and man, it sounds great. I assume people just torqued the bolts (dp to turbo, dp to midpipe, midpipe to axelback) by hand and got them as tight as they could get? I did notice a rich fuel smell so I'm going back tomorrow to check everything, I believe that is normal :)

    Just a heads up:

The drain for the base of the windshield runs out of the firewall right by the DP. You're going to want to trim that drain because the DP will get hot enough to melt it. Stinky :(

Yeah, pretty much. I <3 my whisper :yumyum:

Actually, there is a second clip for this if you look below it and towards the rear of the car. I just pushed mine to clip in to that.

I removed my turbo, my down pipe, up pipe, exhaust manny.... the thing sitts there as cool as a cucumber!!!! I just have to push it out of the garage every once in a while. No rattles, no power, no move. I hope that helps!

(I think if you wrap the down pipe you'll be okay!)
