Have you ever been to drag racing tech. They just glance at the car and let you go.

The last time I went was about 4 years ago. They did a pretty thorough 'glance'. They asked about suspension, battery, tires, estimated times, and looked at my helmet. Did they stop caring about safety?

Depends on the track. What track did you go to? I have gone to Rock falls in my younger days with a totally unsafe car and they let me run.

I think they only inspect how awesome your mullet is before drag racing.

Rock Falls. It was a v8 day. I totally smoked this yellow Mustang with license plates that said (YOULOST). I have a picture of my car running down the track. The stang wasn't even in the picture.

Thats true. If your mullet isn't within spec the wont let you run. Thats why I spend allot of time on my mullet making sure its up to snuff.

Back when my mullet was budding, I was able to trick the inspection guys a few times before pulling up to the line:

    1. Play Whitesnake REALLY LOUD when pulling up for inspection. Does it really get any better than Here I Go Again...? Nuff said.

    2. Offer him several beers (from your trunk) and a few hits of your NOS. Be sure to let them know you're cool by matching him beer for beer, hit for hit.

    3. Wear Oakley Blades -- the real ones. This will usually keep their eyes fixed on how awesome they are long enough to forget about your ****ty, out of spec mullet.
