2 years and it clears after that. The first offense is usually kept secret with the govt. The second and so on one gets reported to insurance.
So say if i'm applying for a job that neads a clean record, and I got a ticket over a year ago and that was it. They might not know about it. As far as I know the insurace company dosent hava a clue.
it stays on your ins for 3 years, driving record for 5. They will probably see that you have a ticket, but one won't bother them most likely. Your best bet is to be honest if it asks if you have any moving violations other wise you may get the job and then get fired for lieing, which would be no good.
Speeding tickets are petty misdemeanors which mean employers or future employers can not find out about them. Petty misdemanors are so minor that they aren't actually considered a crime because you can't go to jail for them(they can put the hurt on for repeat offenders though). DWI and assault are examples of misdemeanors and you can get up to 90 days in jail(first offense) and employers can see these. At least it is this way in Dakota County. Some dude asked the judge that question last time I had to go to traffic court so I am sure on that also(unless the judge was wrong). Hope that helps!
Well it is at a car rental place and in the add it has clean in all caps, but i'm going there today to check it out.
I am sure they only do that to deter sheer dumbasses. Best policy, like the other poster said, is just to be honest up front. Don't pawn blame off on the cop. Just admit you were speeding.
