Wondering if anybody having issues with E85 tuned Subarus right now? Do you guys switch back to pump gas or stay with E85 in the winter. Thinking about going E85 in the summer just want to hear some feedback from other people.

    Thanks,
    Max

ofspunk7 called me up, told me his e85 doesn't have any problems this winter.

If anything, you can have both pump gas and e85 maps and load them up.

Any of you guys have A/F gauge, what's your reading at WOT with winter ethanol mix? Any problems with morning start up?

Do they switch the ratio to like E70 for winter? Or is it the same blend as summer?

I am still running E85 and after Nuke put some new maps on my car this fall it has started up perfect every time. I had no issues when it sat outside in the ramp all day when it was -7* and no issues having it sit outside at afton all day on saturday and sunday this weekend. By no issues i mean it is cranking over right away, there is little to no delay with it cranking over. So far, so good.

I am very happy with swapping over to E85. You have to fill up a lot more, and long car trips suck... but the every day driving is a lot more fun.

Here is a good website to check and bookmark on the cell phone to find E85 when you are out and about. It is harder to find E85 than it is to find BP gas stations... LOL

Make sure to click E85 on the left side and Public under advanced options.

I'm running E85 still just fine as well. -6 was my coldest start. Ended up having to throttle it at 2,300 rpms so it wouldnt die while the engine warmed up though.

I barely have had any start up problems not until recently, last week. I got gas from a holiday that i had never filled up from then started getting start up problems...car will start then shut off, in the mornings so i have to throttle it to stay running. I'm wondering if the ethanol content matters because i realized some stations have 75% ethanol and the one i usually fill at has 85%.

I park in a ramp at work - non heated and in the basement, but still had to throttle it for it to fire up and likewise at home. I therefore went back to fill up at my usual station. So i'm waiting to see how the car will act tomorrow morning.
