Just installed Ebay Intercooler in Derek's wagon.

First off what a PITA, here are a few things I learned.

    1. Stock BOV does not fit without additional gaskets even then you need to use very thin clamp.

    2. This thing is as heavy as 2 stock intercoolers.

    3. I will need to add some Dynamat to keep from wearing through the AC lines.

    4. Was only able to use the mount on the drivers side, need to fabricate one for the passengers side.

This really helps fill the giant hole in the hood.

I also learned that from my deal with another vendor with simular product. Make sure the hardware mounting are flush and do not have any worped flanges. Mine which finally got replaced had this issue and I could not get max boost no matter how many gaskets. Its basically a product that needs a little TLC. LOL

yeah, but a lot of the FMICs are just as prone to cause headaches

Which intercooler did you get. I installed mine with no problems and everything fit ok. Not perfect but ok. Did not rub anything and was not heavy at all. Maybe i got lucky with mine who knows. I bought mine for $200 shipped.

This is a second hand Ebay TMIC, the only real problem was getting enough clearance for the stock BOV hose. Once I did this the flange mounted flat enough.

The fit was pretty good all in all.

what the heck man, why would you buy a POS intercooler like that???

Oh wait, I have the same one.

yeah, the fitment wasn't the best, but now I can put it in and take it out in a few minutes.

FYI- I loosened the drivers side bracket and was able to get both mounting bolts to line up and secure.

I have had zero problems with the A/c line that hits the intercooler pipes.

From what I understand its a bigger problem with the 02 than later years. Also not sure which supplier this was due to the fact it was a second hand purchase.
