well..ok..sometimes when im driving my engine will die...not sure if its coming from the ecu or the wires itself...so...does anyone know what might it be??

fuji tried moving the ecu around...and after trying i do get power..and if i was to shut off my car...it'll stall for a good second or two before it shuts off...

    any suggestions????

92 eg33 engine with stock SVX ecu

    thanks!

    dont worry about it
check all the connections at the ecu or all the wires going into the plugs for the ecu. clean the idle air controller valve if it has one. spark plugs maybe?

well last time i checked...the main relay wire didn't get any power....from that wattage/voltage reader thingy...sorry lol....but yes...until i moved the ecu around then it got power again....

then while the car was running...i would move the ecu around to check for anything...then it'll die...

so im guessing that its probably loose wire...or it might be a cracked wire inside somewhere...hmmmm......

if fuji gets to this thread..maybe he can explain about it...since it was him that found out what was wrong with the car...

yea...i was thinking that it was probably from the old old old harness....being bent and twisted...not from me but...from the original owner...so..either its that..or if not then..im probably going to get a brand new one from the dealership and just ask Chux to redo my wires again....

when your engine dies, does EVERYTHING die? If you have your headlights on, do they shut off when it dies? Dome light? Or is it just the engine dying?

Mine did this earlier this year. It was a hose leak from my fmi. Check to make sure all your clamps and hoses are on correctly and not pinched shut. Good luck!!

You answered your own question. If you are moving the ECU around, you are putting stress on connections. Therefore one of your connections is not handling that stress, and making it open. Check the wires you messed with when you did the swap, and other plugs in the harness. Did you use solder or good crimp connections? Stay away from solder as much as possible in an automobile. Since solder is such a rigid connection, the individual strands of wire will fatigue over time and break at hte soldering point. A properly crimped connection will never fail. You can rip the wire before the connector lets go. Thats why all the connections and splices in an automobile harness are crimped...

i heard that there is a wire thats under the dash that if it isnt wired properly it causes the EG33 to do this. I saw it on NASIOC, ill see if i can find the thread. I think it is a black wire with a red stripe or a red wire with a black stripe LOL
