2002 USDM Ej20 Had 160k on it and after hot tanking it will have to be bored to .5mm over. What is a good piston choice? I would like to make 300 whp. I want it to be reliable. So I am leaning towards a set of forged pistons. There is a great deal on a set of CP pistons for 410.00 Brand new in the Box CP Pistons with Rings, Wrist Pins and Locks for Subaru Impreza WRX EJ20 Engine Part # SC7400 -- 92.5mm Bore -- 8.5:1 Compression Complete set of (4) Pistons, (4) set of piston rings, (4) wrist pins and locks CP Pistons Feature: - High Strength Aluminum Forgings - Super Lightweight Designs - Fully CNC Machined and Balanced to +/- 1 gram Would these be a good option? If not then what other brands might I consider? or possibly different compression ratios? I want to keep it reliable and make some power. Future plans or a VF39 or other Vf series but for now it will just be the td04. Thank you!
No, the stock crank polished up beautifully. I wanted the V7 JDM sti crank but noone has one. Why do you recommend the 2.1 build? and what crank does it use?
CP makes bomb-proof pistons. I'd like them in my next motor. However, AFAIK, CP does not offset their pin bosses so they tend to be a bit noisy. Not that it is bad, just noisy.
I am excited! I got the specs from Nuke for the pistons, thanks. I trying to find a reputable shop to machine my block.
