I've got a good EJ22t shortblock I got from my buddy Jared that shut down his speed shop (Speed Techniques in Sioux Falls) I'm looking to slowly build the shortblock into a complete drop in engine for the GC Imprezza I'm looking to buy (had an 04 STi, sold it this summer, now getting another Scooby).

My plans are for a daily driver, somewhat mild build ( I'm a little jaded on "mild", looking for around 400whp). I remember Jared having problem after problem with a couple machine shops when building his STi block (now straightened out it puts down 630+awhp on a dynojet) so I'm asking here for recommendations of reputable builders. I can assemble no problem, just need a good shop to do the machine work, balancing, etc...
Any help/advice would be appreciated. thanks

    Russell

NF Performance. Fuji specializes in assembly, and headwork.....but he's got a preferred machine shop too.

22ts seem to be prone to problems once you build them for power, but I know Fuji has had a very good track record keeping them in one piece.

Thanks Chux, least that's one recommendation... I'll be researching pretty good before I start to build this one, not in a hurry. Too many projects already anyway. :D

I have a sleeved 22t that Bikerboy built for me. He has build numerous bolcks for members here and a bunch putting down big numbers. He works down at RS motors in burnsville. I had a 100% problem free summer running around 400-450 all last summer. Couldn't be happier. Looking to do some head work this winter and go for more next summer. Shoot him a PM.

Thanks KSAL. Might have found a nice clean RS25 that'll need building... whether I do the -22t or a -25 doesn't really matter too much to me. Extra torque would be nice though, so maybe I'll track down an extra 25 block... either way, it'll get stuffed with good internals.

Well, talked with Fuji for a few hours yesterday. When it comes time to build my engine, he's my man on this one!
