Can anyone tell me which motor this is? By the way it is in a 97 legacy wagon, I do not know the submodel. I hope it is the EJ25D, it looks like it from what I have seen with that big intake resonator.
I've seen a ej22 with the ej25 intake before. You really can't go off the pic. Does the block say ej25 or ej22?
^only if it's the original motor by the looks of it, it could be th 2.2 http://www.cars101.com/subaru_legacy_archive95_97.html#1997 options
i would say 2.2 it looks like it's the L model and only the outbacks had the 2.5 in that year i believe
IDK if it is in a junkyard, it is a personal sale. Well i guess i will be looking for a different vehicle with the 25d and manual. Ugh
darn, oh well. guess i am for sure still looking for a manual vehicle with the 25d, budget $3000 but would like to stay under that by a bit, any help would be appreciated.
That's definitely the good stuff! And by good stuff.....I mean a 2.2 25Ds were in '96-'99 Legacy Outbacks (except '96s with a manual), LGTs, and '98 Impreza 2.5RSs $3k is pretty much the bottom of the barrel for running AWD subarus these days. Good luck finding a 25D that's rebuildable, much less running, for that money.
Well really I want everything drivetrain wise to swap my coupe to a faux RS, for now. Then later on frankenstein the heads to the 257 block and run standalone, turboed and tap the heads for oil. Any suggestions on getting what I need for the swap? I have an impreza outback for all the drivetrain minus the transmission cuz that is crapping out on me real fast.
Okay found one that could be decent, I don't care about the body cuz it is for a swap, what do you think? http://minneapolis.craigslist.org/ram/cto/2701008510.html
I was thinking of swapping the whole console over if it is easily possible but if it isn't then i can sell it.
ok the gt fell through, the guy sold it. now i am actually in contact with a guy from duluth with a 97 leg outback 5 speed. I hope this one isn't a let down too.
