    Yeah, some of the autox guys use those data acquisition systems. It's not really "tuning," it's more like "change xxxx habit or pattern when driving a course."

    Neat stuff.

    The data systems that are out there for race cars are pretty awesome these days. The high end motorsports ECU's that are out are also pretty crazy.

    Take the Bosch Racing ECU for example- 2 to 12 cylinder control with per cylinder AFR's,EGT's, and knock correction. Also the ability to adjust timing and fuel on a per cylinder basis. It can store a few dozen maps at a time and is on the fly switchable between them by either the driver or pit crew. For an 8 cylnder application it's ~$20000 to get one installed.
