My friend is selling me a Exedy stage 1 clutch. I own a 1997 Impreza L wagon EJ22. The Clutch is made for the 95-01 2.5RS, but will it fit my wagon? I'm sure both clutches are the same and i'm in need of a new clutch. So is it safe for me to buy this clutch and install it in my car with out any problems?

    Help me out.
    Thanks.

I wish I could tell you on that, man... I hope it works out for you. I've got an Exedy Clutch/Light Flywheel combo on my 01RS and I hope that kit you're getting comes with the flywheel because if it doesn't you should really thinking about buying one along with it being you already are pulling your clutch :p Erik(awdimprezaL) has a light fly on his car also and we are both in agreement they rock out..lots of extra wheel power right up front

I have a Exedy Stg 1 in my MY99 L wagon. The engine size is the same and it should every well fit. The only other EJ-series engine it won't fit will be the EJ18. The EJ18 uses a smaller clutch coupled with a smaller tranny I believe.
