my car has a HKS downpipe and ebays exhaust, since 2 days ago, once i start the car, the sound of exhause is louder than before, all my friends can tell too, im not really sure where the problems is, cuz the exhause was from ebay, so when i hooked it up, they said the exhause was like 2-3 inches off. can anyone tell me why my car sound way louder than before? for me, i think its the gasket betweenthe downpipe and the exhaust.
    Thx for the help

probably the gasket between the downpipe and the cat back i had that same problem with my bosal helix combo. I picked up a gasket that had a edge on it from an exhaust shop in wisc that Justin had gotten his. put that gasket on along with the oem gasket and no more exhaust leak! sorry if that is kind of hard to understand.

I would have to agree. DP to mid-pipe leaks are common. easy fix though.

make sure you gasket is centered between the pipes and retorque.

Check the ebay exahust for cracks. I have seen two come through my shop the have had cracked exhaust. Both came from ebay. But I hope its just a gasket for you.

here is a crude drawing of the gasket. sorry im not readymixx when it comes to the mspaint the dark outline represents the part of the gasket that protrueds and seals the diameter These can be purchased thru the muffler shop in wisconsin I will have to wait till justin gets home to get the part number for you. Otherwise you can call them 715 386-1560 and see if they remmeber me ordering mine. Just ask. The last name is Peterson I think they are $8
