So I get in my car tonight just to show off that my car can get out of the cluster **** in the parking lot at UMD. Well needless to say, that wasn't a problem ;) but when I got out I saw a very dim oil light on. I shut off the car, checked the dip stick and it barely showed any. Under the hood there was some oil spewed onto the snowpacked area where my battery once resided. I think the seal is leaking in there( whatever is in there...) timing chain or something??? I also have a defi oil sandwich plate but it really didn't look like that was the problem. Anyone have ideas or advice??? BTW I was showing regular oil pressure and it didn't sound very different.

No, I just think it's a seal. is that a timing chain under the black cover?

I really have no Idea it isn't spraying now but that may just because it didn't get too high of rpms and I don't know if there is any oil in it. the oil light was super dim though so idk if it was just starting?

honestly if it was me , id have it full of oil, and drive it back as long as it wasnt coming out of there fast, keeping and eagle eye on the oil level. but its up to you, i know the dealership gets a good chunk to do t -belt stuff, and im sure my dad would help you out on it. its totally your call and depending on its condition

yeah, I'll see what I can do this week, I'll fill it up and go for a little easy drive. I just don't want to take it out in the snow with a half ass car. I am coming home on next saturday for spring break so I'll see what we can work out.

I had a VERY VERY dim oil light on yesterday after I dug my car out of the snow drift in the back yard... checked the oil and it was just fine, not low or anything. Moved it to the street, let it sit, haven't seen it on since.

Not if you do what I did. (2.5 longblock) You just can't run the AVCS.
