Okay here is the situation: I have an 05 Sti, the factory alarm system is acting wierd. For those who have the factory alarm, there is an additional beeper. you know the one that beeps once when lock and beeps twice when unlock. that is not operating for me, the little security light flashes twice per second and that means that the security system is armed. but no beeps is heard when both lock or unlock is operating does anybody else have this problema??? i think Dream's car has the same factory alarm as mine so if your looking at this give me some feedback. I read throughout the whole security portion of the owners manual and found that there is a problem. brought it to white bear suby and they said it is normal, I DONT THINK SO... willing to come meet someone with the same alarm system and compare. please help..

I'm not sure if it's the same on the new alarms, but on the older (my2000) factory alarms blinking twice a second means it is in valet mode. There should be an easy way to get it out of valet mode, on mine I just hit the disarm button on the remote and the press the alarm button/light on the dash.

You can turn off the beeps. Is that what happened? Look on the back of your clicker. There are directions on how to turn it on and off.

If you parking lights flash once when locking and twice when unlocking then the alarm is arming and disarming and maybe you inadvertently(sp) turned off the beeper for the alarm.

Oh and also the security light, at least on mine, flashes all the time that the keys are not in it. That is even if the system is disarmed i.e. unlocked car. I think that is the ignition disable that has to do with the chip that is in your key.

Yes I have the same alarm and its funny you post this. Mine is acting weird also. I have it set so it beep's and sometimes it does, and sometimes it doesnt. Sometimes it will even "half" beep like there is a short someplace. I never really looked into it, but I may bring it up when I bring my car to the dealer to get my strut fixed and see what they say.

Yep thats wat mine will do at times not all the times but i do notice it mostly on hotter days like the vehicle has been baking in the sun for about 8 hours. then yes it will do that half beep. but unfortunetly white bear suby did not find nothing to be wrong at this time. but it only happens at times. so hopefully yours will act up when the TECH gets it or they will say there is nothing wrong. seems like my complaint on my vehicle on their papers did not say what i had explained to them. they are talking about the vehicle alarm going off when it gets broken into like the car horns going off. thats not my complaint, my complaint is that the vehicle car alarm does not beep when lock and unlock. everything else operates fine but the alarm will not beep. so there you have it. alarm is operating properly at this time.

I would follow the directions on the back of the fob to make sure the clip feature is enabled.

I have the same problem with mine. I have always thought it seemed more frequent when it is hot or if the car has been driven a harder(increased heat)

well it was operating properly when i got home. then about 15-20 mins later i went outside to pull it into the garage and oppps there goes the beeper not operating again. so i call the white bear suby, nobodys important there to answer my q's. so i call BP suby and talked to i think JEFF. he was on the phone with me while going through the owners manual and the back of the key fob. still did not work, untill about after 10 mins of messin around with the alarm it started to operate again. hmmmm. Jeff said beepers have been known to go out. so i gotta go in on Friday and he'll order it then. but this morning it is operating properly because it is a cooler day???PROBABLY, TWO THUMBS UP FOR BP SUBY AND JEFF.

Damn you all, I should've never read this thread, mine's making sickly noises this morning, I think it's dying, no that it really matters, I can always hit the button a couple time and have it honk to know it 's locked.

Water is what kills those things, and seeing as how they're right behind the grill, water gets into them very easily. I've replaced a bunch of them already.
