I love fall. The best season of all, in the best State in the US for enjoying it. The only thing I regret about going to bootcamp in Oct. is that I am going to miss most of Fall. I will be back in a few years though, and I will enjoy every fall season that rolls around here in MN for the rest of my days. What I love most about Fall: -end of the year BWCA trips with my dad -No Bugs -Hiking -The smell of leaves on the ground -Cool , clean, crisp minnesota air with lots of awesome wind and breezes -Musky fishing on 'Tonka all day when there arent any docks in the water and no body on the lake -Hay rides. -Fall colors (trees, clothing, everything!) -BBQ's at the lake when the leaves are all changing -Wearing a sweatshirt and Jeans from 8-10am, a tshirt and jeans until noon, tshirt and shorts until 5, tshirt and jeans until 7, and tossing the sweatshirt back on at 8. Whats your favorite part about fall?
How can you say winter sucks. It mean one thing, snowboarding. Ive been depressed for the passed month thinking about it even though Spirit isnt going to be anything like Brighton was last year.
Seems like it went from summer -> fall over night. it was 43F this morning! yikes. anyway, I am really looking forward to the snow this year. I am just not sure how some people can put their subies away for the winter. its the best part of owing a subie.
I love bon fire season... I mean fall. It is even better where I live now since I could have a fire every night if I wanted.
+1 to fire. I bought a bunch of wood for the fireplaces and most nights that I'm home after supper I throw a couple logs in just for the smell of it. Last weekend I enjoyed cutting up a bunch of large branches so I'd have some kindling, and now I'm seeking out some places to buy a lot of wood so I don't have to get hosed at Holiday ($5 for that little bag of wood? C'mon).
what? fall lasts like 2 weeks here in comparison to the mid atlantic and central midwest. We barely even have a fall or spring compared to those places. I miss living where there were 4 seasons, not 60% winter, 30% summer, 5% fall and 5% spring like they have here.
I love fall. A/C off, heat not on yet so the service bills are low  No more cutting the damn lawn. Football season. Duck and deer hutning openers! And the fishing picks up again!!! Gotta love it.
Errr ahhh....winter in the mid-atlantic or central midwest?!?! That is what we call fall. There isn't "4" seasons outside the mountain ranges or north. ..and Gridlocked, mowing occurs more often in Sept than July or August.... grass doesn't grow well when it is >80F. (That is why you plant new grass in the spring or fall) Christian
Trust me when I tell you this: Going to boot camp in the fall is the perfect time to go. San Diego is a bitch in the summer to do PT. It won't be too hot and it won't be freezing either (well, freezing by San Diego standards, anyway). Semper Fi, man.
I love fall. But I'd rather spend it in the UP of Michigan than in south-central MN (here). That's why I'm off to the UP on Saturday (with a sad stopover in Duluth for a funeral).
I decided after speaking with a few Marines who went through San Diego MCRD that the best time of year to get there is around sept-oct. Its going to be interesting missing thanksgiving, my birthday, christmas, and new years with my family, but hey, at least I get to celebrate them with my newest one. My biggest concern right now is how to avoid the bronchitis and other illnesses that have been hitting everybody pretty hard lately. Brian, when did you serve, and what was your occupation while in? I'm going to venture a guess and say, something to do with fire fighting? I'm enlisted right now on an 8 year 4/4 stint, and have my application for 1300 engineering in (waiting for oct. to roll around before sending it in.) Yesterday was a real motivator. Just remembering what happened and why I joined is real heavy fuel.
