Congrats and welcome, but why unfortunately just in time for winter? That's when they are most fun, I have been rolling on my winters like an idiot since 10/5 waiting for the white stuff...

I'd like to keep my car as rust free as possibly but I realize that this is probably never going to happen in MN lol.

Nice Launch edition wheels btw. I've seen a launch edition around battle creek and the U. That wouldnt happen to by you would it?

No, you will see me primarily in the EP, Hopkins, Bloomington area. I know the whole WRB and gold are iconic Subaru colors but I was never a big fan. I prefer the way my ride looks now with my black winter wheels to be honest.

You want an STI? I would consult your doctor first to see if an STI is right for you.

    btw, Welcome to MNsubaru

You should get that checked out by a professional...STI's can be very painful and brutal on the wallet if left untreated. I reccommend calling the nearest wrecker and a healthy dose of penicillin.

Just playing, welcome aboard! Come to a meet or two and get to know us! Only nhibbs and idget bite hard.

Lol did you drive by while we were taking pictures?

Also bad news guys. I picked up my car yesterday from P&L Automotive after getting my clear bra installed. That night I found an area where the clear bra was peeling, this morning after further inspection I found a scratch on the edge of the clear bra (l assume it was probably from a razor blade from cutting the clear bra). I decide to do a check around the car where the clear bra was installed and found 2 other places that had scratches next to the edging of the bra.

I mean its not that big and you can only see it if your looking from underneath the car but I'm just like wtf I wanted a clear bra to prevent scratches, not so that my car would get scratched up installing it. Its just bothers me because clear bra's are suppose to protect your paint.

The line are super jagged and ugly too. I had the full bumper covered and its covered by several different pieces of plastic

Here's a picture of the worst area

Unfortuantely its more complicated than that because I purchase the clear bra as a package from the dealer. Sent the pics to my dealer and waiting to hear back from them.

Umm, if they are properly installing the clear bra, the clear bra is normally cut by a machine to the correct pattern for your car before applying. There should be NO cutting of the bra once it is on your car.

So either those scratches were already there, or that shop is royally stupid when it comes to installing a clear bra.

Sorry to hear that happened. In order to get a proper clear bra installed, talk to Chis at Flawless Front ends. He is a forum member, has tinted and clear bra'ed many of our members' cars (mine include, tint and clear bra over the years), and he always does top notch work at great prices. Here is the link to his vendor page: http://mnsubaru.com/reviews/flawless-front-ends-and-window-tint.37832/

depends on the material. most of them stretch and the template isnt a perfect fit. lots of factors like how much you overlap or tuck the wrap, stretch, temp, material, etc... will make spots like that not line up and require trimming. that's what that finger ("peeling") is from. stretching around a corner. the scratch is most definitely from trimming back the excess after stretching over a corner. that's why they should be doing it on a lift or sitting on their ass. i always check spots like that when cars with clear bra come through for details and yes, Chris form FFE pays close attention to areas like this. I've yet to see a good dealership wrap job. lots of cut (no pun intended) corners like you see in that pic.

I live in STP so its probably not me. I definitely wasn't in Eden Prairie today and thanks hope to resolve it soon.

They bra was actually installed by P&L automotive the dealer basically was the middle man.

The scratch definately wasnt there prior to the installation. Im pretty sure it was from them trimming it since its right on the edge of the clear bra on 3 different areas.

Do you guys know of all full bumper clear bras come in peices? I never had one and seriously thought it would be all one piece. All the edges look like crap, at least on CWP.

Touche, didn't know that about the cutting on the car Sheen.

I believe my entire front bumper clear bra is one piece, but there are separate pieces for the hood, hood scoop, side mirrors, rear fender flares, etc. You can definitely see the clear bra my aspen white color, but the better that you take care of the clear bra (e.g. using the correct cleaning/polishing products on it), the less noticeable it should be. Mine has picked up plenty of cone marks from autox and they are pretty much scraped into the clear bra. But it serves its purpose, and if I ever want it to "clean" it, I'll just replace it lol.

Point of the story, I would definitely make the dealer/P&L remove the bra, fix the scratches, and then take it to a quality person to install a new clear bra correctly.

Thanks Ducksause. Was your clear bra 3M as well? Apparently the 3M clear bra for 2015 STIs come in seprate peices and if that's the case then I'll be having someome else install something different.

Does your clear bra have lines like these in the fog light area?

    Ah good choice sir.

So in conclusion, in case anyone is wondering. I got the shop to buff out most of the scratches but some are still left on my bumper. Dealer said they couldn't fix it properly and will be issuing me a refund and giving me some accessory's. Can't say I'm fully satisfied but at least I'll be getting some free weathertechs.

That's some BS. I would be mad as hell if I paid money for that. P&L normally does pretty good work too.
