In a bit of a pickle at the moment.

So my clutch slipped for the first time today, and I'm shopping for a replacement. Can anyone suggest some? Car is an 05 STi - I'd like it to be a sprung 6 puck. Needs to be able to hold 350+ lb/ft torque.

Cost is a factor, but I'd rather garage it and walk than put something poorly-made in it.

I appreciate any help you guys can give me.

Look around at importimage's posts on the site here. He's got really good deals. Call or hit him up on AIM for even better pricing.

Hey bro, ive had a few clutch problems in my day and my two favorite without going twin is either a South Bend or a Spec. They both have clutches that will fit your need. Hope this helps.

i went with a ACT HD 6 puck Unsprung.. let me tell you DONT go that route while in theroy it sound like a better idea for the track it is not. Launches are hard as hell not to mention im pretty sure its beating the crap out of the rear diff. ACT and Exeedy make some good stuff just dont be an idiot like me get the sprung

I had a Spec clutch in my 05 STi and loved it. Pete (6mtizzle) has the same clutch and thinks its hard to drive, but Pete is also a girl. Readymix has the Spec clutch as well and I believe has had good luck with it.

Exedy twin disc, love it to death. Very daily drivable and obviously dependable.

I hate my Spec , it is either engaged or disengaged there is no middle ground like the stock clutch. And be prepared to swear at it if you ever get stuck in rush hour traffic for any extended amount of time. Dream recommended this to me saying it felt just like stock...it don't lol. Now my synchros are starting to die in my tranny I'm half considering going back to a stock clutch once I get tuned this summer or perhaps trying an exedy twin.

EXEDY Hyper Single. I had one and it can handle any abuse you throw at it.

Yeah, Pete is a sally. I have the Spec Stg3+ and it's just fine. I felt little to no difference from stock. It's easy to engage and disengage, the engagement feels solid.

I like my hyper single. Its a bit grabby, but the pedal is lighter than stock.
