70 Degrees I going to Florida on Monday, March 10th I’m flying into Tampa, FL with my wife and two kids we are staying in New Port Richy. Too bad they don’t rent Subaru's down there -Michael Loch
I got back from FL about a week ago. Ft. Meyers, stayed in a condo on the mainland just across from Sanibel and Captiva (last exit on the road before the island). The condo is right next to a marina where a wet slip sells for $250k... Some serious boats there. I've got some photos of one of the racing boats that was there and the Ferrari the owner drove. Eventually I'll get to posting them.
Iam going down the 20th till the 28th or something like that. going to daytona any one ever been? whats it like?
yeah and mine was like get in at 11:30pm wed, wake up at 7am thurs.. have breakfast, go to dealership, sign papers, get in car and drive hm to MN.... not much of a vacation
NEVER. and my loyale came from Florida too......sure it was more than 10 years ago when my dad flew down and picked it up. but I just pulled the DelRay Subaru dealer emblem off it last fall.
The end of your vacation there is a big car show, and there are tons of nice cars down there. Not alot of imports mostly huge trucks and Chevy Caprices with 28"s on them. One piece of advise is dont pay for the nice hotel, I have stayed in $275 a night and $50 and there is no difference at all. My wife and i have gone to Daytona Beach for5 years in a row.
I'm currently 1 month into my 4 year vacation down in sunny Perth, Australia. I can't believe how awesome the weather is down here, and supposedly it won't really get much colder during the winter in a couple months. So far I've learned how to surf (though I still suck), went snorkeling a bunch of times, and I'm getting my scuba certification next week. We've been snorkeling just on our own, and the last time we went out we had a huge stingray swim right underneath us by a couple feet. First time I've ever seen something like that where I haven't been with some sort of paid boat tour. I certainly haven't missed the crappy midwest weather, especially since it looks like it has been damn near below zero since the day we left.
well, we were delayed in atlanta for three hours, because of snow in michigan, but we're here now, looking forward on seeing the space shuttle liftoff tonight at 2am, first night launch in five years!
We had the last shuttle land while we were there. Woke up when the sonic booms hit in the morning. Didn't see anything, of course (I was asleep, and there's not so much to see when it lands). My wife has watched the shuttle take off from the balcony of the condo, but that was before we met.
I'm going to Orlando on Wednesday for a school thing.....except we're taking charter buses so half the trip is driving. (ok, maybe not half, but you get the point)
I'm going to Minneapolis tomorrow, for a half day of free timberwolves game. should be pretty balmy. I'll take pictures of my sun burn.
If you guys have the money, I suggest that you get the 'express access' at universal, 30-90 min. lines for rides, becomes a no wait-line!
I imagine this is the same as the "fast pass" at disney, in which case you're a moron if you DON'T use it. I loved the looks on the sweaty fat kids as we marched to the front of every line with fast pass in hand.
i think at universal you have to pay for it. at Disney its a machine that give you a ticket of when to come back like its holding your place in line for free.
