My motor is out right now and i decided might as well put it on. Does anyone have a good write up on cutting your bumper beam and notching the bumper, etc.? I am pretty mechanically inclined and can do most the work and have most tools to do this job so if anyone can help me out it would be great. o yea my car is a 00rst and the FMIC is an ebay one. It is actually from Nhia's old ej20g setup.

This is kind of vague to me...I dont want to start hacking away unless i know a forsure answer...

This is the beam upside down...i know i will have to cut the licens plate holder off but do i cut here and bolt here(green)?

or is it here? (front view of beam)

and if i am totally off can someone take my picture and make the right cut for me...i just dont want to make a mistake...Thanks in advance...

why dont you mount the intercooler on the car and then put the bumper/beam on and estimate what needs to be cut off from there?

lightweight beam = ~$60 and no cutting. Call the dealer hookups.

If you are nearby Rochester you can come take a look at mine and see how Mano and I did it. It is impossable to see in my avatar but we still have about an inch or two to cut on the bumper but once you have it put together and attempt to put the bumper on you will see exactly where it needs to be cut. After we cut it I took a wood file and filed my bumper to make the cuts smooth and even.
There is that large section on the bumper where it goes in (behind the license plate) and is filled with that black plastic stuff. All that black plastic needs to be cut out. And on mine it was about 2-3 inches of the bumper itself to fit around the fmic.
