    Hi

    I bought the 20 L bucket

Used approx a six speed worth. and have 4L set aside for someone already, that leaves at least 11L left over.

12 dollars per L (i gain ~1.75 for my hard work of ordering it) i think its a fair price seeing you cant buy it anywhere local or at TIC for 20 bucks per...

you need to either bring your subaru and change it in my garage ( i could even help pour it out of the giant can) or bring your own containers for transport. or maybe convince me to bring it to firestone or the calhoun meet.

    thanks for looking

damn, lack of access for me. I tried to buy it from them but they quoted me for the huge bucket and said no other size was available

If no one else in minnesota wants it i could do that, how often do rally cars get trans fluid changes?

depends on how poorly the driver shifts

I have some of my bucket left over - maybe we could just pull out enough so we have a full change ready

Yea thats the only size in comes in FROM Subaru.

Due to high demands for the stuff. We bought a few tubs and bottle for resale over the counter and for service.

it's easy to do. there's also a DIY guide on scoobymods. It doesn't hurt to do it

Just make sure you have a 21mm socket or a torx, depending on your car.

So, since I cannot see the link previously posted, how do I go about getting this by the bottle? I need to do a change this spring (not interested in doing it in dmoo's garage).

    Thanks!

n00b questions: what is this magic elixer? What are the benefits? Is it only for manuals or does it work for the 4EAT too?

Its not for the EAT. Its an 8090 if I remember right, either way--not at all for an auto.

fallow up noob question, can i ask why? i would think (with almost no car knowledge) that theres enough similarity between the manual and auto trany's that you could, i'm sure its more complicated then this but isnt it more or less you moving the gears around vs it doing it when the torque vs power needed is at a certain level dictated by the throttle? i'm just guessing in the dark.... :hsugh:

Auto allows power transfer thru plates rubbing against each other. Manual has gears meshing and synchros rubbing. Big difference internally.

Automatic tranny fluid is more like hydraulic fluid. Thinner, with significantly more detergents. Most automatics use hydraulic pressure to control where the power is going and when.

    Woah, off topic, sweet.

bump, chug 2, 2L of pop and bring the empties (rinsed and dried of course) down to Firestone tomorrow and i will bring the fluid

Carl: any idea how much you would need about to have a full fill ready?

Rusty: this is a good project to do which you should under take with Extra S fluid...
