My wife needs a new car and I'm considering a forester, but i have a couple quick questions:

what is the first year of the USDM forester turbo?

Is the forester wider then a legacy specifically will the back seat fit three car seats?

is it available as a manual aside from the STi?

Anyone on here have any forester experiences they'd like to share

    2004 Forester XT
Comes in both AT & MT

A few members have the XT model on this board
I think they're pretty nice, with the 2.5L, just toss on a few mods and get some decent power

It's for my wife, who rear ends like 4 people a year. No power mods, only braking, handling, and great tires.

I have an '07 Forester XT Sports, 5 speed manual. It's a terrific car.

One of my previous cars was an '05 Legacy GT wagon. I really don't think you could put 3 car seats across the backseat of either of them.

Perhaps you should contemplate public transportation for your children considering the way your wife drives. LOL

    Here's mine:

it won't fit 3 car seats in any Subaru...we tried on the tribeca too...unless it is completely custom made. But the problem is it won't be regulated, so safety might be an issue
