Does anyone know anything about these, are they any good http://www.stratmosphere.com/wrx_engine.htm I am looking for a louder one. If you have any ideas on a good one let me know. I dont want one that is super loud but i want one that i can hear.
just say no to atmospheric blow off valves on recirculating systems. They harm performance, make a loud noise. Might as well just remove the muffler too. Then weld in a whistle tip. Then drive while holding the horn down.
I had one on my WRX for about 2 months, it worked fine and I didnt notice any change in performance. I took it off because the sound got very annoying, but if you like that, go for it,its a nice piece.
hey guys, i am new to mnsubaru. i have a 05 wrx, i am also looking for a BOV, anyone recommend one, or any opionions on them. i hope to meet some of you guys in the future. thanks
are you running over 20psi or plan on running over 20psi?? If not, stick with the stocker unless you want a $200 whistle. The only reason I have one on my car is because I am running 22psi. I am running a worx tuning bov, and it works real good. It recirculates at anything under 12-15psi and vents/recirculates at anything over that. If you are looking for the sounds, get a short ram and loose performance that way. Russ
what russ said. i had it on before i had the short ram and it was quiet...put the perrin short ram on and it was audible.
GFB -Go Fast Bits... hurt performance?!?! So I guess anything that alllows more air in.. ie cai hurts performance too?? if you get cheap crap you get what you pay for...
well, a short ram will hut performance because it sucks in all the hot underhood temps. Yes, I can prove it. I have been running a dual probe intake temp kit for the last 3 summers and the highest intake temps i have ever seen was when I was running a short ram. After I have tried a cai and short ram, I am back to the stock box. Russ

The thing just blows off air you would ordinarily be recirculating, which makes it run temporarily rich as hell every time it does it. There is absolutely no reason for a non 350hp+ wrx to have one except the noise, and the periodic temporary lean condition.
lets just get to the point. Teh sound is cool and we all know its not good for performance...but performance is not the issue at hand here...cool sounds is. And if you are going to the drap strip/track/dyno that day, then take a whole 5 minutes and switch back to the stocker. booyaa
