have a dog, but the bone is half the size of my jack russel, plus he doesnt dig in the yard, and the hole was about 5-6 feet deep. I will take a picture next to a ruler when i get home today. But just to guess, its about 10" long and about 4 inches around at the smallest point and 5-6 inches around at the largest point.

what if it belonged to a deceased person who died violently... what if by digging it up, you disturbed their peace, and now they're going to come get you in 7 days, like in a movie, except this isn't a scary movie, so you won't know the ending where the monster goes away back into your spetic tank and you're left in peace, only to find out she won't go away because she wants to be your jack russel terrier now. you better not have any TVs around...

My Dad knows alot about bones and he looked at it. He said that line down the middle of the bone is different from any other animal. He said it is probly from some type of deer.

yeah you might find the rest of your neighbor.

a 7 inch bone is way too big for any small mammal. considering that there femurs are like 3 inches long. perhaps you found big foots toe?
