I have the Cobb front and rear sway bar package on my 05 LGT with aftermarket front end links. I think they are rally sports or kart boys. Otherwise, suspension is stock. Thumping in front when hitting bumps driving me crazy. I had the car off the ground and than loaded the control arm to see what what might be loose. I could see daylight between the sway bar and the bushing when the lca was lifted. Normal? Could this be my issue? Thanks
I'd say not normal. I have front and rear Whiteline sway bars/links and while they are a little noisier they shouldn't be thumping or clunking. When the weight is off the suspension you might see a little gap because of the angle but they should be snug under load. I'd try longer bolts or a couple washers to see if that helps.
Was just browsing on eBay and saw that Kartboy sells spacers for using Kartboy endlinks with Whiteline sway bars (less than $10). Not sure how the Cobb design compares but they might help for that setup as well.
Thanks for replying. When you say longer bolts or washers...tell me how those would go and how it would eliminate the gap between bushing and bar. I'm not getting it.
details re: bushings? Came with the bars? How old? Rubber or poly? Assuming the gap you're seeing closes when the suspension is unloaded, that's where I'd start.
My bad, I was thinking you had a gap between the link and the bar for some reason. Idgit's right, it's got to be worn bushings.
