Well, it looks as though I’m moving up to St. Cloud. As such, my house in Zimmerman is for sale. 3 BR, 2 BA in main house(more later), all on one level. Hot Tub, Wood burning fireplace, roof is less than 3 years old. Additional 1 BR, ¾ Bath “guest cottage†on property. Could be used as a rental, or office space, or whatever. It’s in rough shape inside but wouldn’t take much to get up to spec(remodeling, apparently, is not my strong suit). Also 2 car garage with large shop area and additional 1 car carport. The stalls are extra wide. In each I can store a car and a motorcycle and still have extra room. Property is on 4 parcels(2 needed to build, so someone could subdivide the lot) and has an excellent view of Sandy Lake. Located in a quiet neighborhood on a dead end street. I get that alot. I commute every day, it's about an hour to pretty much anywhere in the cities. I look at it this way, I used to live in South Minneapolis and commuted to the North suburbs, it also took me an hour(for 20 miles, blah). At least the commute from Zimmerman has a lot of interesting roads. With the price of gas these days, it's much harder to justify then when I originally moved, but it's still not stopping me from moving to SC and commuting to the 'cities.
There's a really cool road just to the west of St. Cloud to rip around the corners on. Take 23 West to Richmond, then take Hwy 22 South (22 is the fun part) all the way to Hwy 55. Lot's of fun...
holy smokes...holy 412 in property taxes, that is unbelievably cheap. i pay 12x that for my house in wisconsin....no joke.
how long does it take to get to brooklyn park from your place. i knwo some one that may be interested (if that BP time isnt too bad)
krees: Thanks for the heads up, saves me time of going out anmd looking for good roads. Justin: Sometimes living out in the sticks ain't so bad. Dyna: Mapquest says ~54 minutes(depending on where in BP). In my experiance, it's closer to 45 or so. Thanks for the interest guys.
Location makes a difference. I live 70 miles west of the twin cities (commute is great with the STi on the back roads), I paid $200.00 for annual property tax, 600/mo mortgage for 3 bedroom 1 bath house and I've got 4 acres. I probably make up the difference in gas though, I go through 8 gallons a day with the commute. But I think it's worth it. Oh, I also live right across the street from a Tavern...WOOT! igofast- We'll have to hook up when you move, I'll show you some great roads
