This is the combo that will fit a GC if I put on my GC tophats, correct? If yes then I'll take them. Pm'd
Shee-yot! What's the benefit of running these dampers with stock springs or do these require aftermarket springs as well to yield materially different from stock results?
These will fit any car from 98-07. They are merely labeled as 02-03 WRX as the base dampening rate, setting 1 of 4, is equal to the stock WRX strut. The 98-01 RS version of the AGX strut is set to the RS oem damper at a setting of 1. The WRX version has settings 1-4 front and rear. The RS version has 1-4 front, 1-8 rear with 2 of 8 as 100% oem. The rear shaft is based off the older 03 and under tophat, i.e. use older tophat type and straight rear springs or newer 04+ tophat with newer tapered springs plus spacer (washers or ala TiC specific made strut spacer. I am aware of no specific differences between 98 to 07 designs. In 04, the tophat changed and the rear strut shaft changed a little, i.e. why some washers/spacer is needed when using newer style tophats. These struts a benefit with stock springs? Not really except you could set dampening higher if you wanted for a firmer, more controlled ride. The main point of aftermarket dampers is to let you adjust dampening to stiffer, aftermarket springs.
