I thought i would give it a shot here. I have a set of nissan 4pot 2pot thats taking up space in my house that i need to get rid of. pads on them is about 50-60% Piston boots look to be in great condition. Looking to get $200obo out of the 250 i paid for these.
say what? rear calipers will work on a 240SX? which brackets? if the calipers will work with the 240 brackets (which are interchangeable with the old-school subaru rear caliper brackets) and have a handbrake lever, I'd be extremely interested in the rears. fronts too if they'll go on my '92 legacy knuckles
The issue with the 300zx ones compared to the subaru ones was indeed the mounting bracket. they were very diffrent from the subaru ones. otherwise, the rest of the caliper is identical.
I'm not 100% sure what will and will not work but talking to a few nissan guys i know thats what they told me. Also that what a lot internet sources point to. Your free to come check them out and try them if your ever around the cities. I don't see myself in duluth any time soon here, sorry.
to what subaru ones? EJ stuff? I'm currently running nissan 200SX rear calipers on EA82t caliper brackets. 240sx ones work aswell, just have a different ebrake lever config. the problem I'm having is that once I go 5-lug, I'll be running full EJ stuff in the front, so 4pots and bigger rotors etc. are easy. but the rear will still be all XT6, completely different from the EJ stuff, and with no aftermarket. not sure when I'll be in town, but I'll do some research and be in touch. I still have the 200SX caliper brackets, so I could just bring those and see if the 2pots might bolt onto them...
The thing here, is if you have to use the caliper brackets from the suby, they probably won't work. these are a floating caliper, so there is no separate caliper/bracket. they are the same piece. so unless you can bolt 240sx brakes directly on to your rear hubs, odds are this won't work.
^ you should borrow your dad Z brakes for a day and see how they fit up. i know you need a adapter for the 2pot rears on most subys, it could be the same peice. infact i think Kartboy makes these adapters.
doubt it, no EJ-series rear calipers will fit on EA rear backing plates....it'd have to be something totally unique... I've got the calipers on that allow it, but haven't strung the cables yet. but I've got the legacy handle and cables to use once I go 5-lug.
